Solids Kit

This kit is intended for use with our Drawing Basics online course. It contains 2 cubes, 2 cylinders, and 2 spheres, with each object in the pair hand-painted a different value of neutral grey. The objects are made of solid maple, and have a pleasing weight to them. They also feature a subtle surface texture that can be fun to draw – once the underlying form has been described adequately first.

Neutral Value Scale

Based on the color notation system of Albert Munsell, this value scale is a useful reference for gauging values in drawing and painting. The 9-Step Value Scale includes nine glossy swatches of neutral grey in equal steps from dark to light. Each swatch is grommeted and detachable from the included metal binding ring.
